My Movie List
I consider watching movies in the theater a big deal in my daily life. I need to make sure I have enough sleep before watching. That’s because I try to catch every detail to ensure I have a comprehensive understanding of the cinematography, plot, and music.
In my opinion, there are three main aspects when it comes to evaluating a movie:
- Theme: What does the director want to express in this film? What message does he want to convey?
- Music: Almost every great movie has unforgettable music. In fact, I listen to the soundtrack over and over again before a movie is actually released. It’s interesting to hear how the music plays its role when watching the film afterwards. Listening to familiar music while watching unfamiliar visuals is a lot of fun.
- Cinematography: That’s what makes movies different from other art forms. You can see how the composition influences your subconscious. Some great shots are classic even as still images; completely separated from the film, a good shot can be a great painting as well.
